A design proposition to bring the emotions of sport centre stage with live events at its heart

Live Beyond Live was the term we coined to express the new design proposition for BBC Sport in 2011.

Through audience research we detected the differences between regular news coverage and sports coverage. Sport has emotion all around it, viewers consume content to fuel their excitement before, during and long after each match, race, round.
With that in mind, BBC Sport was designed to give live events and the build up before and the analysis after around prime space and in doing so extend any event (and its enjoyment) beyond its actual duration - "Live beyond live"

I worked on this project from its initial design explorations, research, drafting personas, use cases and feature propositions to the actual design, prototyping, user testing and launch. In that period I was involved in various roles, as ux, interaction and visual designer.

A sporting event has a set date and time to happen, which brings anticipation as well as a post-event analysis and catch up moment.
